Ohio Hates Podcamp

The state of Ohio apparently has a problem with Podcamp. Ok, to be fair, mainly with the logo that was being used by the organizers of Podcamp Ohio. Whoever designed the logo they were using, creatively worked the Podcast emblem into the font script that the State uses on its license plates, and stuck it up on the Podcast Ohio website.

Clever, right?

Guess who thought otherwise? The great state of Ohio.

Apparently the organizers got a phone call today from the Powers That Be asking that Podcamp Ohio remove or change the logo. I’m guessing The Man has no idea what Podcamp is all about, assuming that its some sort of money making outfit trying to leech off the ever-so-populular state of Ohio, or maybe they figured they had such an AWESOME logo going for themselves that they needed to stop anyone from stealing it. Hey Ohio, its a crappy, sloppy script with a star dotting your ‘i.’ It probably took me more time to explain the logo, than it did to create it.

I’m from Ohio, so I’m not just bashing Ohio b/c its boring and weird or even because they effed up the last presidential election. No. I’m ok with all that. I just think these guys need to loosen up and let Podcamp Ohio use the logo for crying out loud.
