New Year’s Eve in Salt Lake City Recap.
Yeah so New Year’s Eve was nearly a week ago, so what? Here’s how I spent it.
Thursday and Friday we got snow dumped on our heads again, and there was great debate about whether the “All Weather Airport” would be open. Turns out it was. Bj, Aileen and I made the slow snowy trek hopped an early flight and took the one hour flight to Salt Lake City to visit Bj’s brother Kirk and his wife Katie. They picked us up at the airport, stopped off at the new house to quickly drop our bags and headed out for food. As soon as we got back in the car, Kirk realized he’d left the keys in the house and locked the door behind him. We spent an hour attempting to non-destructively break into the house. No luck. Kirk finally kicked his own door in. Nice.
Greeted by the Dinosaur Chickens (Kirk and Katie’s weird little dogs).
The beginning of the destruction.
The next day we headed downtown to check out the city.
The Olympic stadium.
That night we had a few too many drinks and Kirk decided to drill holes in the attic to run some cable. Great idea.
He only drilled a hole in the middle of the ceiling once. Nice job Kirk!
New Year’s Eve Day, we checked out the Great Salt Lake. Lots of nothing out there.
New Year’s Eve we tore it up with a wild game of rummy.
As you can see we were all pretty excited to see the Ball drop at midnight. I believe we had to wake up Kirk and BJ around 11:55p.
Eff you 2006. Happy New Year!
We left Tuesday morning, bright and early, but not before we got to see Kirk at work on the local FOX affiliate. Sorry Kirk, but I can’t take you seriously whenever I see you on tv.
